What types of offers does SessionM support?
The SessionM platform supports a wide range of offer types.
Buy X Get Y Offers
Set the number of items (X) that a customer must purchase to receive some item (Y) — or portion of an item — in return. Offer types include
-
Buy X Get Y Fixed – Buy X number of items and get a fixed amount off of the Y item.
-
Buy X Get Y Percent – Buy X number of items and get a percentage off of the Y item.
-
Buy X Get Y Set Price – Buy X number of items and get the Y item for a set price.
Fixed Amount Discount Offers
Set the number of dollars that one or more items should be discounted. Transactional discounts like this are the foundation of many reward programs because members always want to save money. When every dollar they spend gets them closer to future savings, your members are less likely to leave you for a competitor.
You can configure the discount using the following offer types:
-
Fixed Amount Check Discount – Get any defined dollar amount off of the entire check or cart.
-
Fixed Amount Item Discount – Get any defined dollar amount off of either the lowest or highest priced item in the check or cart.
Percent Discount Offers
Set a percentage discount for one or more items. Like dollars-off discounts, percentage discounts give your members the monetary rewards they’re looking for. However, unlike dollars-off discounts, the monetary value of percentage discounts isn’t set in stone, making their perceived value higher than their actual value. This will push members to increase their basket size in order to take full advantage of the percentage discount they’re redeeming.
You can configure the discount using the following offer types:
-
Percent Check Discount – Get a percentage off the entire check or cart.
-
Percent Item Discount – Get a percentage off of either the lowest or highest priced item in the check or cart.
Set Price Coupon Offer
Offer an item for a defined promotional price with the use of a coupon.
Fulfillment Offers
Issue and fulfill physical and digital goods. A fulfillment offer can be:
• Digital – Offer is a digital gift provided through an electronic delivery method.
• Manual – Offer can be picked up on location (in-store, at the restaurant, and so on).
• Physical – Offer sent by courier, such as USPS.
Package Offer
Bundle individual offers into a single collection, or package. When a package is redeemed by a member, all offers in the package are issued to the member. For example, an offer package can be created that contains a $50 food credit offer, a free hat offer, and a 25% off single-item offer. When the package is redeemed by the member, they receive all three offers.
Selection
Bundle individual offers into a single collection, or selection. When the selection is redeemed by a member, they are awarded a fixed number of selections, as opposed to receiving all offers. For example, a selection can be created including a $50 food credit offer, a free hat offer, and a 25% off single-item offer. When redeemed, the member selects two of the three offers, which are issued immediately. The quantities specified for a selection offer can be configured when you define the offer.
Booking
Create a parent offer with multiple child variants falling beneath it, such as different dates/times or inventory SKUs. Each child is considered its own independent offer. For example, a booking offer has free tickets to a jazz concert. The jazz concert has three performances on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. While the concert details remain the same (parent), each daily show (child) is an individual offer with different showtimes and distinct inventory tracking.
