What is a SessionM audience?

Audiences are segments of your member base grouped by demographic and behavioral data in real time. They are built with standard demographic attributes such as age, gender, state, and custom behavioral attributes such as customer lifetime value, risk of churn, and recency, frequency, monetary spend (RFM) metrics. SessionM supports building an audience from the member profiles stored in the platform’s Customer module.

Generally audiences are dynamic, evolving over time: members are added or removed, attributes such as home address and household income change. But they can also be static. The platform provides another type of audience called a static snapshot, which allows you to take a snapshot of an audience that freezes all aspects of that audience at a specific point-in-time. Working with a static snapshot, you can ensure that new members do not flow into an audience after a certain point in time so that you can be assured that audiences are confined to a specific group of people for messaging and reporting. Take, for example, a campaign where an audience is selected to receive an email about how they can get an award for purchasing a product. The audience cannot change between the time the email is sent and the potentially eligible transaction occurs.
