Add encryption mechanism

Add an encryption mechanism that can be used to encrypt the data in an audience export.

About this task

Audience export files are plain text. SessionM strongly recommends that you encrypt the export file before sending it to an SFTP destination. Use this task to set up the encryption mechanism for your site. You then select that mechanism when you define an export job.

Steps

  1. On the Audience dashboard, click Manage Exports.
  2. Click the Encryptions tab. A page that contains all of the current encryption methods that can be applied to an export opens.
  3. Click Add Encryption.
  4. On the Settings tab, enter or select data. All fields are required.
    SettingDescription
    NameName the encryption scheme.
TypeSelect the encryption type. Currently, only PGP is supported.
KeysEnter the PGP keys to use for encryption. More than one key can be entered. For example, a key for a specific cloud implementation and a key for each user of the cloud.
  5. Click Save.

The new encryption mechanism appears on the Encryptions tab and is available for use in export jobs.
