Build points outcome
Points-based outcomes provide a mechanism for awarding points from a point source to a customer's point account. In addition, to these fixed point outcomes, you can configure outcomes for customers when they spend dollars. You can also take points away from customers by adding an outcome that expires points from a specific customer point account.
You can add a fixed point outcome when you want to award a customer points.
About this task
If you want one behavior to award points to two separate accounts – for instance, into a spendable point account and into a tier progress point account – you would need to create two fixed point outcomes here.
Note that rank is important when you have outcomes that build on each other.
Before you begin
Typically, the flow for building an outcome is to first build the rule that generates it. When a customer meets the logic expressed by the rule, they are rewarded with the associated outcome. For more information, learn about rules or how to configure them.
Steps
- In the rule builder for a behavior, click Edit in the Outcomes section.
- On the Outcomes modal, which defaults to the Offers tab, click the Points tab.
- Click +Add New Fixed Point Outcome to expand the associated fields.
- Set the point value in the Award the user field.
- In the points from field, select the point source from which the points are to be awarded for the outcome.
- In the to field, set the point account that will receive the awarded points.
- Specify a value in the Rank field to stipulate the order by which the system will apply the outcome.
- If you want to create additional fixed point outcomes, repeat steps 3 - 7.
- Click Done. The Outcomes modal closes, and the number of points outcomes you just created displays in the behavior's Outcomes box in red, as unsaved changes.
- Click Save. The unsaved changes are now represented in the Points tally within the Outcomes box.

You can add a point-per-$-spent outcome whereby points are added to a customer's account when they spend a specific amount of money.
