Build tag outcome

Tag-based outcomes drop a tag on a customer’s profile and then use that tag for other activities, like building audience lists or targeting a campaign.

About this task

You have the option to set an expiration period for the tag. If you want different expiration periods for different tags simply add each as its own tag outcome. There is no limit to the number of tag outcomes you can create.

Before you begin

Typically, the flow for building an outcome is to first build the rule that generates it. When a customer meets the logic expressed by the rule, they are rewarded with the associated outcome. For more information, learn about rules or how to configure them.

Steps

  1. In the rule builder for a behavior, click Edit in the Outcomes section.
  2. On the Outcomes modal, which defaults to the Offers tab, click the Tags tab.
  3. Click +Add New Tag Outcome to expand the associated fields.
  4. Specify a value in the Rank field to stipulate the order by which the system will apply the outcome.
  5. In the Type Tag Here field, enter tag text and then click Add Tag+. The new tag displays in the "Attribute tags" section. You can remove the tag by clicking its X icon.
  6. In the Expire in fields, either accept the default for "No Expiration" (paired with zero for the associated time) or select a different unit of time (e.g., day, month, year) from the dropdown. Then enter the number of units for the tag expiration period.
  7. If you want to create additional point expiration outcomes, repeat steps 3 - 6.

  8. Click Done. The Outcomes modal closes, and the number of tags outcomes you just created displays in the behavior's Outcomes box in red, as unsaved changes.
  9. Click Save. The unsaved changes are now represented in the Tags tally within the Outcomes box.
